I wanted to use some of the shots I took from my weekend trip toistanbul for this project, and first of all, I took this photo with my frame, in which the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge creates a beautiful view in the dark hours and this photograph depicts a nighttime scene focused on a lit suspension bridge against a dark background.
The choice of a black and white filter intensifies the contrast between the bridge's lights and the surrounding darkness, directing the viewer's attention to the lines and form of the bridge. This choice also strips away the distractions of color, emphasizing shapes, textures, and the interplay of light and shadow, which seems to be a deliberate part of the creative expression.
The darkness could suggest isolation or tranquility, while the light of the bridge might symbolize guidance, hope, or human achievement.
If I were to do this project again , I would consider experimenting with different angles or perspectives, possibly incorporating more elements into the photo. Foreground or background to add context or layers to the narrative. Another variation may include taking photographs at different times of day or weather conditions to explore how changes in the environment change the mood and message of the image.
