Bu şarkıyı çevirirken fark ettim ki çeviri gerçekten de sadece dil bilmekle ilgili değil. Aynı zamanda hissetmekle, empati kurmakla, kültürel farkları anlamakla ilgili. Yapay zeka birçok şeyde çok başarılı olabilir ama duygularla yazılmış bir şarkıyı çevirmede hâlâ yeterince iyi değil.
Kendi çevirimi yaparken çok düşündüm, bazen tek bir kelimeyeYarım saat harcadığım oldu. Çünkü “yalnızlık” hissini veren doğru İngilizce kelimeyi bulmak zor. AI bunu saniyeler içinde yapıyor ama o arayış yok, o sorgulama yok. Bu yüzden bazen düz çeviri yapıyor ama etki yaratmıyor.
Ayrıca kendi çevirimi yaparken Teoman’ın sesini,yorumunu da aklımda tuttum. Şarkının hangi kısmında sesin titrediğini, hangi kelimenin daha vurgulu söylendiğini düşündüm. Bu da çeviriye yön verdi. AI böyle bir şeyi yapamaz çünkü o şarkıyı “hissedemez”.
“İstanbul’da Sonbahar” gibi duygusal yönü çok güçlü olan bir şarkının çevirisinde, duygunun doğru aktarılması çok önemli. Benim yaptığım çeviri belki teknik olarak mükemmel değil ama içten, duygusal ve samimi. Çünkü o duyguyu hissetmeye çalışarak çevirdim. Yapay zeka çevirisi ise teknik olarak doğru ama ruhsuz kaldı.
Sonuç olarak, çeviri yaparken sadece kelime değil, duygu da taşımak gerekiyor. Hele ki bir şarkı sözüyse, işin içine his, ses, geçmiş ve kişisel deneyimler de giriyor. Bu yüzden yapay zeka birçok alanda başarılı olsa da, bu tarz edebi ve duygusal metinlerde insan dokunuşu hâlâ çok daha değerli ve etkileyici.

While translating this song, I realized that translation is not just about knowing the language. It is also about feeling, empathizing, and understanding cultural differences. AI can be very good at many things, but it is still not good enough to translate a song written with emotions.
I thought a lot while doing my own translation, sometimes I spent half an hour on a single word. Because it is difficult to find the right English word that conveys the feeling of “loneliness”. AI does this in seconds, but there is no search, no questioning. So sometimes it translates directly but it does not create an impact.
I also kept Teoman’s voice and interpretation in mind while doing my own translation. I thought about which part of the song the voice trembled, which word was said more emphasized. This also guided the translation. AI cannot do such a thing because it cannot “feel” the song.
In the translation of a song with a very strong emotional aspect like “Autumn inistanbul”, it is very important to convey the emotion correctly. The translation I made may not be technically perfect, but it is sincere, emotional and sincere. Because I translated it trying to feel that emotion. The AI translation, on the other hand, is technically correct but soulless.
As a result, when translating, it is necessary to convey not only words but also emotions. Especially if it is a song lyric, feelings, sounds, past and personal experiences also come into play. Therefore, although AI is successful in many areas, the human touch is still much more valuable and impressive in such literary and emotional texts.
