Tara snorted, accepting the cup and rolling her eyes at Rafe's teasing. She examined the teddy bear pattern, her lips curling into a smirk. "Oh, wow, a teddy bear cup. So original," she drawled, taking a long sip of her colorful slushie. The cold liquid was exactly what she needed after the warm night and loud party.
She glanced up at Rafe, taking in his ridiculous angel costume and the way the feathers on his wings fluttered slightly with each movement. She couldn't help but laugh, setting her cup down on the counter. "You look like a reject from a bad Christmas commercial," she joked, reaching up to tug on the halo headband. "And 'tiny'? Really? I may be short, but I'm not that small."
Tara grabbed a bag of Cheetos and a hot dog from the fridge, along with a couple of sodas. She paid for everything with Rafe's money, not bothering to argue about it. As they exited the store, she handed him the bag. "Carry this, giant," she said, already pulling out her phone to text Chad. "Meet us back at the dorm in 00."
She started walking, heading in the direction of their building, Rafe's long strides easily keeping pace with her shorter steps. Tara felt a rare sense of contentment wash over her—a Halloween party, a midnight snack run, a cute(?) boyfriend... maybe tonight wouldn't be so bad after all. She glanced up at Rafe, her gaze lingering on his angel costume. "So, are you gonna keep playing the angel or can I corrupt you and turn you into a little devil?" she asked with a grin.
